It was an emotional Sunday as part of the FIM JuniorGP World Championship, with many twists and turns in the fight for the titles, during the six races on Sunday at Misano.
Marco Morelli and Brian Uriarte put on a spectacular show in the flagship JuniorGP category, after an epic battle on the final lap of the first race on the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, while Carlos Cano, Alberto Surra and Iker Garcia also won.
In the JuniorGP category, at the end of a breathless finale, Marco Morelli (GRYD – MLav Racing) narrowly secured a magnificent first career victory in the first race, overtaking the long-time leader Brian Uriarte (UAX SeventyTwo Artbox) in the final turn.
David Gonzalez (AC Racing Team) held on to secure their first ever podium, finishing third. Rico Salmela (Estrella Galicia 0,0) was fighting for the podium before crashing at Turn 5 and retiring in Race 1.
French side, Enzo Bellon (CIP Green Power Junior Team), member of theFrench Speed Team - GP Sector, qualified 17th, finished 17th.
In race 2, after his disappointment in the last meters of the first round, Brian Uriarte responded in the best possible way and dominated from start to finish, winning by more than six seconds.
Behind him, Jesus Rios (Finetwork XTI Mir Racing Team) and Rico Salmela There was a fierce battle for second place, which the Spaniard won at the finish line. However, the Finn was later disqualified for a technical irregularity.
Salmela's disqualification allowed Marco Morelli to climb onto the third step of the podium, he who had initially finished fourth after a Long Lap Penalty for repeatedly exceeding track limits.
French side, Enzo Bellon (CIP Green Power Junior Team), which started 19th, finished in 16th position.
At the end of the Misano weekend, Brian Uriarte has a 46-point lead over Rico Salmela, while the latter's teammate, Casey O'Gorman, occupies third place in the general classification.
En Moto2 European Championship, Alberto Surra (Andifer American Racing) created a surprise at Misano by winning with a lead of 4,616 seconds over his teammate Xabi Zurutuza (Andifer American Racing). Milan Pawelec (AGR Team) completed the podium in third position.
The Moto2 ECh race was full of twists and turns: Unai Orradre (Team Ciatti – Boscoscuro) crashed in turn 2 on the first lap, followed by several drivers. Later, Eric Fernandez (FAU55TEYRACING) and Alberto Ferrandez (Team Ciatti – Boscoscuro) crashed at Turn 8 while fighting for the podium, with 13 laps to go.
French side, we will note the 7th and 8th final places of Johan Gimbert (Promotion) and Lorenzo Fellon (SF Racing).
Unai Orradre retains the championship lead, but Alberto Surra is only seven points away and Milan Pawelec climbs to third place in the ranking.
En European Talent Cup, the first race was close: three drivers crossed the line within a second of each other. Starting from pole for the 4th time this season, Carlos cano (UAX SeventyTwo Artbox) converted the try to win ahead of the rookie Lorenzo Pritelli (Team Echovit Pasini Racing) and Fernando Bujosa (AC Racing Team).
Starting 23rd on the grid, Alex Longarela (Snipers Igaxteam) made a strong comeback to fight for the podium, before receiving a three-second penalty for exceeding track limits. He finished 10th.
French side, David DaCosta (JEG TAKE OFF GP), member of theFrench Speed Team - GP Sector, qualified 14th, experienced a technical problem.
Antoine Nativi (JEG Take Off GP), who started 19th, fell and had a bad crash, leaving it to Remy Sanjuan (Larresport) to carry the tricolor flag, in 19th position, whileEvan Boxberger (JEG TAKE OFF GP) finished 23rd.
In the second race, Carlos cano et Fernando Bujosa fought for victory again. Number 1 held off number 69 to secure a double, while Gabriel Tesini (AC Racing Team) brought San Marino onto the podium by finishing third, securing its first top 3 in ETC.
French side, Evan Boxberger (JEG TAKE OFF GP) is the only survivor of the French offensive, 20th.
In the championship, Fernando Bujosa retains the lead with 144 points, nine ahead of Carlos cano and 29 on Alex Longarela, with only two races left to run in 2025.
