Since November, when applications for a place in the 2023 Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship opened, a high number of candidates have registered their interest. The number of applications from future competitors in the Moto2™ European Championship, including the Stock category, was particularly high.
The FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship Finetwork has therefore decided to organize the European Stock™ Championship as a separate category in 2023. This new Championship will include seven races, one per event, and will use a single tire manufacturer. As a new category, Stock™ ECh will create a great opportunity for drivers on the grid to showcase their skills, scoring their own victories and podiums.
Between February 15 and March 15, candidates whose place on the grid has already been confirmed will be able to formalize their request and ensure their place on future recruitment lists.
With the birth of Stock™ ECh, there will now be four categories in the Championship: JuniorGP™, Moto2™ ECh, ETC and Stock™ ECh.
Last year, Moto2 and Stock competed in the same races and sessions, the Spaniard Marco Tapia winning the Stock title on his Easy Race team Yamaha, Lukas Tulovic that of Moto2 on his Kalex-Triumph from the Liqui Moly Intact JuniorGP Team.
