During the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, MotoGP™ continues to work hard on measures to mitigate the impact of this global pandemic on our sport.

A very positive and fruitful electronic meeting between MotoGP™ manufacturers and organization representatives was recently held to share views and discuss a range of topics, from calendar revisions to proposals for changes to the technical regulations for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Following approval by all teams in all three categories, the majority of manufacturers and no votes against, the following proposed changes to the technical regulations were presented to the Grand Prix Commission and accepted.

These changes aim to reduce costs caused by the current Covid-19 crisis while maintaining fairness and equality in order to preserve the entertainment value of the sport and the integrity of the competition.

– Freeze of engine specifications and aerodynamics for the MotoGP™ category until the first event of the 2021 season. Thereafter, the current upgrade regulations will apply for the remainder of the 2021 season.

– Freeze of full motorcycle specifications in the Moto2™ and Moto3™ categories during the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

The FIM, IRTA and Dorna would like to thank all manufacturers for their continued support of the championship.

Please find below the Grand Prix Commission's decisions regarding these changes in full, as well as details on the ban on ride height devices in the Moto2™ and Moto3™ categories.
