The FFM (French Motorcycling Federation), the FFSA (French Motor Sport Federation) and the FFC (French Cycling Federation) have officially contacted the Ministry of Sports on the conditions for resuming amateur competitions from May 19.

Indeed, the number of participants imagined by the administrative authorities (the number of 50 participants is mentioned) would not allow the resumption of our amateur competitions organized on public roads as this threshold chosen would be restrictive. Its maintenance would mechanically have the effect of making the organizations in deficit and would be likely to dissuade the organizers from maintaining their demonstrations.

With regard to competitions taking place in Establishments Receiving Outdoor Publics, the three federations wish to obtain details on the arrangements for welcoming spectators within the framework of competitions organized under their aegis and to have the assurance that it There will be no limit on the number of entrants.
It is indeed essential to establish certainty on the application of the public reception system to our practice sites, both on Motocross circuits and on Autocross circuits or on BMX stadiums for example, which structurally do not have seats.

Be convinced that the FFM is doing everything it can to defend the interests of our sport in order to propose an early and peaceful resumption of our activities.

We will keep you informed as soon as we have specific information from the Ministry responsible for Sports.

Sébastien POIRIER – President of the French Motorcycling Federation:
« The difficulties shared with the FFSA and the FFC allow us to jointly contact the Ministry of Sports and draw the attention of our supervisory ministry with more force and vigor. We are aware of the difficulty of the moment but it is fundamental not to create false hopes regarding the modalities of resuming our competitions, particularly on public roads. More than ever, we have a duty to put all our energy into resuming our activities for our motorcycle clubs and licensees. Finally, I would like to remind you that the resumption of our competitions will contribute to the economic recovery of our country. »
