Laurent Fellon and the ZF Grand Prix School continue their training work, focusing this year on his son Lorenzo and Hugo de Cancellis. Moreover, 24 young riders are invited by Yamaha from today to the ZF Grand Prix circuit.

Coming back to the ZF Grand Prix drivers, the results are positive. We are growing and you can see it clearly. Since they were little, Hugo and Lorenzo have been riding together in our ZF Grand Prix School. From the PW cut. They listened, they fit into a mold, and we made them grow like I made other drivers grow. This clearly shows that people who deserve it, who fit a mold, and who stay with us, manage to progress well. For next year, we will try to find a team for Hugo so that he can fight to be 320cc world champion. We have already had plenty of proposals.
And for Lorenzo, we aim to stay in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup because it remains a real chance for us. To stay there, you have to finish the season as well as you started it. It's his first year and he's still fighting with people who are good. His progress is good but we have to continue to work and not fall asleep to be there at the end of the season. So the goal is to stay in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup but also to do Moto3 in the FIM CEV championship. There is still a long way to go but the CEV is a very good school, knowing that if you win or fight in front, you will have a better chance of finishing in the 15 in the world. We can see it clearly with Fernandez who spent 4 years there and who is now fighting up front. So the goal is that, because the world championship is another step and we must not want to skip the stages.”

Looking at the first races, your son doesn't seem to be afraid, especially when braking...

“He wants it because there is a whole team working around him: Adrien Corget, Loïc Trintignac, Xavier Borie, as well as my wife. We are a real family behind him and behind Hugo, and we try to do as many things as possible for them. And they return it to us by having fun when he gets on the bike. And that’s important!

Lorenzo Fellon is currently seventh in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, 13 points behind third. His best results include three fifth places at Jerez, Mugello and Sachsenring. Here are the German races, in these photos, Lorenzo wears No. 5:

En European Talent Cup (as part of the CEV) Lorenzo ran 4 races out of 8 and figure 15e. We are here more as part of the training. He finished 5e in Valencia and 6e in Barcelona-Catalunya.
