Pramac, youth and experience

Pramac Racing plays big in 2021. A world champion line-up, sharp machines, a well-established team... Everything is good for hope.

LikeEsponsorama Racing, the story of Pramac Racing is not easy to follow. The team founded in 1999 is led by Luis d'Antin, former Spanish pilot. Pramac, a brand of handling equipment, joined the dance in 2002 before absorbing d'Antin three years later. The team runs on Honda RC211V and sign, thanks to Makoto Tamada, interesting results.

In 2005, Pramac d'Antin is born. The team stagnates in the middle of the table, before becoming Alice Team in 2008, on ducati. In 2009, the team as we know it appeared. The results are not there despite ducati correct.

As LCR for Honda, Pramac is the historic satellite team of Ducati. The first bursts of brilliance come with Danilo Petrucci, a pilot with an atypical background. On several occasions on the podium, he even missed winning the San Marino Grand Prix in front of his audience, before having to bow to the ogre Márquez.

Jack Miller, criticized for his early arrival in the premier category, bounced back skillfully within the team. Throughout the last two seasons, he has occasionally reached the podium, despite obvious problems with consistency.

Francis Bagnaia, world champion Moto2 2018, also made an honorable debut, but fell too often to show his real talent.

But, in 2021, exit the Australian and the Italian. Make way for Spain with Jorge Martín, and France with Johann zarco ! Our double national champion Motorcycle 2 is on the upward slope and the coming year could well see him return to success. His beginnings at Avintia showed that it was in phase with the Desmosedics (nothing to do with the RC16 a priori…), there is no doubt about it. He has just declared that he felt at home Pramac as good as it had been at Tech 3 and, when we know the importance of a pilot's entourage in his results, we cannot help but think that all the lights seem green for Johann. There Ducati will she finally take him to where he narrowly failed with the Yamaha  ? Newfound confidence, a good team supported by Ducati, a motorcycle that suits him well, there's no reason! We hope so with all our hearts!

Jorge Maryoun is young, but this driver has the makings of champions. After being titled in Moto3 in 2018, he had a mixed season for his arrival in Moto2, before taking the lead in 2020. Covid caused him to miss two rounds and he saw his chances collapse, unfortunately. But Martín did not intend to stagnate in Moto2, whatever happens. Now that he is on a MotoGP, this rookie could well be one of the big surprises of the 2021 field. An entry podium? Why not, it’s quite possible…

Finally victory for Zarco? Rookie of the year for Martín? Leave us your predictions for the 2021 Pramac season in the comments. We'll talk about it again in a few months!
