Johann Zarco missed pole position by 3 tenths of a second. It's both a little and a lot, in this category where we compete by hundredths.

The Ajo Motorsport driver will therefore start from 5th position on the grid, despite a small fall at the Dunlop chicane during qualifying.

John Zarco: “I was solid from the start of the weekend and I improved again this morning, so everything was still positive. When I did my first outing with a new tire, I improved my time, although I wasn't the only one to do so. When I wanted to attack to improve my time, I put on a new set of tires for one last run and I crashed. It's not a big problem, and I was able to get some useful insights from it, like knowing where the limit is.
Fifth isn't too far away so we'll try to make a good start to fight with Luthi, since he seems to be the strongest here. »
