The 2026 World Championship season MotoGP began in spectacular fashion: for the first time in the history of the discipline, the official launch ceremony is being held in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, on February 6 and 7, 2026.
The event, which symbolically marks the opening of the season before testing and races, will transform the famous Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC) and its surroundings into a festive space dedicated to motorcycling, culture and urban entertainment.
A week-long celebration in Kuala Lumpur
Du 2 at 7 February, a MotoGP Fan Zone took place inside the shopping center KLCC Shopping Mall, open daily from 10am to 22pm. This immersive zone gives fans a rare opportunity to discover motorcycles from the 2026 season, interactive exhibits, team and rider-related content, as well as experiences designed to bring the public closer to the world of competition.
The highlight is under the Petronas Towers
A highlight of the week will take place the evening of February 7th, 19 p.m. to 22:30 p.m.local time, against the iconic backdrop of the Petronas Twin Towers. The celebration will include a "Pit Box" style motorcycle display at the entrance to the mall, a parade of machines through the city center, then the riders will tour the show area and take to the stage, giving fans the opportunity to hear the roar of the MotoGP machines and see their idols up close.
Live musical performances from The Script, PAWSA and DOLLA will accompany the fervor of the crowd, this formula making the official launch not only a sporting event, but also a true urban spectacle blending culture, motors and entertainment.
