Having completed the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup in 2017 and 2018, then the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup the following season, rider Haruki Noguchi had since then turned to the Asian Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in the Asian Superbike category. 1000 (ASB 1000) and towards endurance where he had just competed in the 8 Hours of Suzuka.

He crashed last weekend during the second Superbike race at the Mandalika International Circuit, Indonesia, before being hit in the head by another competitor.

The 22-year-old rider immediately received medical treatment at the circuit's medical center before being transferred to a local hospital. After three days of intensive treatment at Nusa Tenggara Barat Public Hospital and the best efforts of medical staff, Haruki Noguchi unfortunately succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday evening (August 16).
