Alessandro Delbianco (Max Racing Team Mahindra) won the twelfth round of the Italian Championship this Sunday after having already won before this year during the season at Misano. It was Nicholas Spinelli (Pro Racing Team KTM) who was crowned “Campione Italiano Moto3 ELF CIV 2017”, with 7 points ahead of his runner-up Kevin Zannoni (MF84 Pluston Althea) for Michel Fabrizio's team.

Max Biaggi's team therefore ended the year in style, which was all the more meritorious as Delbianco beat an armada of KTM and Honda with its Mahindra, while the Indian brand announced its departure from the Grands Prix for the end of this year. Mahindra was to be Biaggi's main support for the arrival of his Moto3 team in GP next year, but this great project fell through, Biaggi's commitment was refused by Dorna and all that remains is to Massimiliano than to join forces with an already existing team.

The adventure of Max Biaggi's team began in the CIV at Imola with the double injury of Delbianco and Bellini. It ended as well as possible, but the 2018 programs are complicated by the announcement of Mahindra's withdrawal. However, " It has not yet been said that the racing service will close, explained Max. Nothing has been decided. In any case, my team will continue to participate in the Italian championship or the Junior World Championship ". In recent weeks, Biaggi has been working on a collaboration with the Snipers team, entered in the World Championship with Romano Fenati, as team manager in the Junior World Championship. But the agreement could not be concluded.

Concerning the general philosophy of the race, the Corsair felt that according to him “It would be useful for me to go back to 15-20 years ago: previously in minor championships, jumping to the higher category was limited to the first three in each championship. It was a sporting incentive to highlight (in addition to the abilities) the personality of the pilot. Today, unfortunately, there are too many “shortcuts” in the path necessary to go to the world championships. »

Regarding the new generation of pilots, “ Today's young people must be more incisive. The team's work remains important and for my part, I decided to target two boys to be able to follow them as best as possible. Families, however, have their duties on the path to maturity because these are, remember, boys 14 to 16 years old. A complicated age in itself »

A last little point of view on Marc Marquez? “ Since moving to the top category he has won many races, despite the Honda not being the best of the lot at times. Who knows where he would be today if he had always had the best bike..."
