The 11th place obtained by GMT94 Yamaha riders David Checa, Niccolò Canepa and Mike Di Meglio, allowed Christophe Guyot's team to win the 2016-2017 FIM EWC world champion title.
This is the French team's third title after their previous victories in 2004 and 2014.
Le Yamaha GMT94 exceeded the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team in the championship standings, while the YART Yamaha Official EWC Team took third place in the 2016-2017 FIM EWC championship.
