KTM surprised us by unveiling its KTM RC 8C dedicated solely to the track this month. But if you were hoping to get your hands on one of these limited edition models, they have all already found a buyer. Although it is common to see sales made in no time, it is interesting to note that KTM managed to sell all 100 examples of the RC 8C in just 4 minutes and 32 seconds. This bike has already set a record before even hitting the track!

Reservations were made directly online for the KTM RC 8C, so you had to be extremely quick to get through the payment gateway on time, for an amount of €35.000. Coming from the Red Bull KTM and Tech 3 KTM MotoGP teams, the new machine features a Kevlar and carbon fiber reinforced carbon fairing inspired by the RC16. The steel frame is hand built.

Power is provided by the famous 8 cc LC889 parallel twin engine borrowed from the Duke 890 R which develops around 126 hp and 101 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. With a weight of just 140 kg, the KTM RC 8C achieves an excellent power-to-weight ratio of almost 1:1. Owners won't have to worry too much about this bike's ability to keep up with the 1000cc on the track.

Being a motorcycle developed solely for the track, it comes with top-tier components to go fast. The lucky ones who were able to place an order will be able to benefit from an Akrapovic titanium exhaust, WP APEX PRO suspension for the front and rear, Brembo brakes of course and Dymag aluminum wheels.

Among the 100 models sold, 25 buyers will have the chance to join the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing test team and participate in a unique event to play with the RC 8C in the presence of Dani Pedrosa and Mika Kallio on the Jerez track. in Spain.

This track experience package also includes an extra pair of Dymag wheels, an extra set of front and rear brake discs, pit stands, heated blankets and a KTM Race environmental mat.

However, those who missed the boat can still have a little hope of acquiring one, KTM having opened a waiting list in case a buyer withdraws, if that ever happens! No, the RC 8C may not be a road-legal model, but KTM is definitely back in the Superbike sector.
