In competitions open to machines derived from the series, each model must be individually approved by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme. Only the manufacturer can approve its motorcycles with the FIM, and only approved models have the right to race, with a few exceptions where prototypes are exceptionally admitted (example: the Open category in endurance).
Here is the list of all machines approved for the 2018 season.
This list covers machines:
– for the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC class)
– for the FIM Endurance World Cup (Superstock class)
– for the FIM Superbike World Championship
– for the FIM Supersport World Championship
– for the 1000 cc European Superstock Championship
– for the European Moto2 Championship (only for the Superstock 600 class)
Newly approved motorcycles are on this list in bold letters.
