Victim of a heavy fall last Sunday at the start of the race on the Silverstone circuit, Loris Baz was evacuated by ambulance. The first examinations carried out at the medical center did not detect any serious injury. Suffering from headaches when leaving the circuit, the Frenchman nevertheless had a scan in the evening to confirm the diagnosis.

This Monday, additional examinations were carried out on his injured foot in Mugello at the end of May. At the end of this, several fractures around the right foot were diagnosed. Loris finds himself forced to miss the next meeting on the calendar at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli this weekend. It will then be replaced by Xavi Fores, current WorldSBK rider for the Barni Racing team.

A few days of recovery are planned, but he will probably be there to support the Avintia Racing team and Ducati at its home event. He plans a return for the next Grand Prix at MotorLand Aragon.

Loris Baz: "Right after the fall, my foot immediately hurt. Initially we thought it was a sprain. I only had one head scan on Sunday evening in England because it was the most important. No anomalies were detected.

When I returned yesterday, I had a second examination with Dr Finn Mahler from La Tour hospital in Switzerland, who has been following me for several years. I had an MRI and CT scan Monday evening. This morning, the doctor confirmed several small fractures at the bottom of my tibia near the talus. There is nothing serious that would require surgery. You simply have to stop and take the time to recover. Starting next week, I will be able to practice some draining massages.

A return to Misano is therefore impossible. It will be tricky to be ready for Aragon, but that's the goal I'm setting for myself. In the meantime, I might make the trip to Misano to support my team.

I'm really disappointed, because looking back at the images, there's very little involved. However, I put the situation into perspective, because it could have been much more serious. I would like to thank my team, all my loved ones and my fans for their unwavering support. I will come back much stronger to finish the season. "
