It is in anticipation of the Italian Grand Prix which will take place next weekend that the manufacturer from Noale had Sam Lowes try a new fairing offering more support on the front in order to reduce wheelie.

Like Ducati, Aprilia intends to do well at his national GP. We have already spoken to you about seamless box, electronics, swingarm and fairing that the team tested in Montmelo.

Sam Lowes, to whom the new fairing gave more confidence according to his statements with the front, went into detail with Neil Morrison of crash.net : " We have made progress with the fairing. We tried to get better aero with the new design although we lost a little speed with it. Now they changed it a little more. We'll look at the data, but it's been very good for me.

“In some corners it's a little heavier with the bigger fairing. But not a lot. I feel the bike more stable and the front more in contact with the track. In any case, it's rare that you do something on a motorcycle and it's all positive.

“I like it to be a little heavier, because I have more confidence to push when entering corners. Whereas before I didn't do it. For me, this is a good solution. Aleix tried it and didn't really like it, so we'll see what we get at Mugello.

“It greatly limited the wheelie. This means you can use less electronic pitch control and keep the throttle more open, which helps with top speed.
