A slightly overcast sky and a 29° track welcomed a Moto2 rider who, even before his first laps on a Sunday devoted to the Malaysian Grand Prix, had been informed of the name of his new World Champion. Franco Morbidelli, in fact, succeeded Johann Zarco due to the loss of a rival Tom Lüthi with a fractured left ankle after his violent fall during qualifying the day before. The rider Marc VDS thus joined that of the Leopard team Joan Mir, inducted from Australia into Moto3, as one of the winners of the season.

However, there was still a race to prepare for. Before its launch, here is the situation in table:

All that would remain is MotoGP to have to know its 2017 epilogue. To understand the consequences of this outcome decided in the medical corridor, it is appropriate to review the images of the accident of the unfortunate CarXpert rider who will join the Marc VDS team in MotoGP alongside Morbidely in 2018. And whose participation in the Valencia final is to be dotted… Like his first test on the RC213V!

Airside, Morbidely signed the first reference of this very special warm up in 2'07.212. In front of his teammate Alex Marquez et Brad Binder on the KTM. The latter even took the lead in 2'06.569 and was ahead of the two VR46 Academy drivers. Morbidely et bagnaia, pursued by the other KTM of the last winner recorded in the discipline, Oliveira.

We left it there with Pasini et Alex Marquez closing the top 5. Quarterly, who will start from the front row at Malaysian lunchtime, was fifteenth.
