At the opening of the session, Andrea Dovizioso takes his time before setting off and leaves his box just as the first drivers return after a lap to do their flag to flag racing tests.

After the first round, Andrea Iannone, Jorge Lorenzo et Valentino Rossi (one of the rare riders to use a medium rear instead of a soft) climbed to the top of the table in a “small 2'01” before the Yamaha rider lowered his time to 2'00.962.

Note that Valentino Rossi uses Johann zarco as a focal point...

Midway through the session, we witnessed an offensive from the Suzuki riders, Andrea Iannone et alex rins moving to the first two places in the ranking. Result, 2'00.657 for Iannone before Rossi's maneuver bore fruit, materializing with a 2'00.485.

This is the moment when Andrea Dovizioso decides to go all out and, for 2 hundredths, seizes provisional command.

Five minutes from the checkered flag, John Zarco is positioned second, 1/100 behind Andrea Dovizioso's time.

Meanwhile, Marc Márquez uses a hard front/mid back combination and cruises around eighth position while getting upset against Alex Rins which rolls behind him.

Sam Lowes fall at turn number #2 and the session ends with this panorama of a Dovizioso about a third of a second faster than Marc Marquez.
