What could be better and more motivating than a grandiose fight against the best drivers in the world on one of the most beautiful circuits on the planet? Finishing in the sprint 0.043 behind Valentino Rossi and 0.016 behind Maverick Vinales last Sunday, Zarco treated himself to a big treat at Phillip Island.

He obviously asks for nothing better than to once again offer himself a fight of such a level, especially since the Sepang circuit is rather conducive to knife fights, thanks in particular to its last corner under heavy braking. beyond the grave and its new coating finally not dented.

Johann ran three times Sepang in 125 (from 2009 to 2011) and his best result there was third place in 2011 in a race won by Maverick Vinales. Zarco then competed four times in the Malaysian Moto2 Grand Prix, winning the 2015 and 2016 editions. He is the only rider, in all categories, to be able to achieve the three-day pass on Sunday with three possible consecutive victories in Kuala Lumpur.

According to Johann zarco, who are " Sepang is a good circuit, and I believe my experience after almost a full season in MotoGP will come in handy after testing there at the start of the year. »

“The Australian GP was incredible and I am very happy with the feeling I had on the bike during the race. Therefore, I hope to fight for the podium or even victory again with the best guys this weekend. »

“The weather will be difficult because it is always very hot in Malaysia. That's why I have to prepare and do well with the team and save my energy so that I can be strong during the GP. I'll take it easy but I aim to fight for the podium once again. »

Johann's teammate this weekend will be Michael van der Mark, replacing the ill Jonas Folger who we hope to see again on the slopes soon.

Below is the new design of Johann's Shark helmet, as photographed in Sepang by Simon Patterson and Michel Turco, to whom we thank.
