The 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix will feature just one wild card, for Kasma Daniel Bin Kasmayudin, in the Moto3 category.

Born in 2000, this young Malaysian rider participated for two years in the Asian Road Racing Championship in the Asian Production 250 category which brings together production motorcycles prepared to develop around 40 horsepower.

6th in 2015 and 16th in 2016 in this category where we still find the former Grand Prix driver Tomoyoshi Koyama now aged 34, Kasma Kasmayudin turned in 2017 to the Moto3 FIM CEV junior world championship in which he is currently in 29th position with 6 points scored.

At the same time, the man who was selected to do an internship at Valentino Rossi's Master Camp in 2016 acquired the Underbone title this year in the Malaysian Cub 150 championship, that is to say on a scooter!
He will ride a Petronas Sprinta Racing Honda this weekend.

Besides this pleasant exoticism, and undoubtedly with more chance of shining, we will recall the replacements of :

- Michael Van Der Mark at Monster Yamaha Tech3 instead of Jonas Folger in MotoGP (see here),

- Dimas Ekky Pratama in place of Jorge Navarro at Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 (see here),

- Alex de Angelis in place of Xavier Simeon at Tasca Scuderia Corse Moto2 (see here),

- Maria Herrera instead ofAlbert Arenas at Aspar in Moto3 (see here).

Otherwise, Alex Espargaro will not be replaced at Aprilia Gresini (see here).
