After crashing six times in three days during the last Catalan Grand Prix held at the Montmelo circuit near Barcelona, Marc Marquez managed to take the lead of the race on the sixth lap. He kept it in the seventh, then had to give it to his teammate Dani Pedrosa, before the latter was forced to leave it to Andrea Dovizioso who finally won.

In third position until the sixteenth lap, Marquez took advantage of Dovizioso overtaking Pedrosa to overtake his teammate shortly after. Marc thus finished in second position, three seconds behind Dovi, four ahead of Pedrosa.

In the World Championship, he is now in third position with 88 points, 23 points behind Maverick Vinales and 16 behind Andrea Dovizioso, with 4 points ahead of Pedrosa and 5 over Valentino Rossi.

With his six falls in three days, Marquez estimated that “It’s been a tough weekend. Before the race it was difficult, but not because of my physical condition. I was in good shape. Of course, it's a dangerous sport. But I don't care.

“I was more concerned about what journalists would have written if I had also fallen during the race.

“My team also believed in me and told me that the falls didn't matter, because they would work all night, so that everything would be ready again the next morning.

“At the end of the day, it’s my style to attack on the limit. Besides, it was my home race. I always attacked. But on Saturday I realized that this time a completely different riding style was needed.

“At the end of the race I felt the front tire well, but in a completely different way.

“But I never give up and keep attacking. I am strong and I always believe in myself. This will always be the case. And that's what gives me confidence. »
