Following his fall occurred during the only day of testing carried out by the official Honda drivers in Jerez, Marc Márquez was examined at the medical center of the Andalusian circuit or was diagnosed “a dislocated shoulder”.

This expression corresponds to a dislocation of the shoulder, that is to say the exit of the head of the humerus out of its joint cavity located on the external edge of the scapula. The treatment, to be done as quickly as possible, consists of pulling the arm in the axis and in a certain position in order to reintegrate the head of the humerus into the joint.
This is what has been done, but the harm is probably not as benign as it seems, since a dislocation can lead to chronic weakness of this joint, more easily causing a new dislocation.

To control all this more completely, Marc Márquez therefore went to the Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona which has agreements with Dorna. Fortunately, no fracture was detected and the doctors at the clinic strongly recommended forced rest. Indeed, in such a case, immobilization with a sling for around twenty days is generally recommended for ordinary people, because it allows the joint to rest and facilitates the healing of ligamentous or capsular lesions.

But since MotoGP riders are all high-level athletes, they recover much faster than everyone else, and this will undoubtedly continue to be the case for Marc Marquez. However, the next official tests will take place on the Losail circuit in around ten days, so it is possible that the Honda driver will spare his shoulder again and do fewer laps than hoped.
