After their victory at Silverstone, Vinales and Suzuki reached a very important milestone by joining the clan of winners. Maverick thus moved to fourth position in the provisional ranking of the World Championship, which means that it is no longer always the same four who dominate.

In the drivers' standings, Vinales with 125 points is now 5 ahead of Dani Pedrosa, while in the manufacturers' standings, the 131 points obtained by Suzuki with two GSX-RR are not ridiculous compared to the 172 of Ducati and its 8 Desmosedics. Moreover, in the team rankings, Team Suzuki has made a big leap forward and now occupies third position, tied on points with the Ducati Team.

Excellent in testing Silverstone, with the third time which earned him a start on the front line, Vinales during the race he only showed his adversaries the back of his saddle, increasingly smaller on the horizon. Will he be able to achieve such a feat again? Misano ? We are wary of it now. He left the ranks of the outsiders to join those of the favorites.

For Maverick, “ I'm still enjoying the joy of my first victory in MotoGP and also the first for Suzuki recently. The last race at Silverstone was simply perfect, due to the excellent work we did as a team. Although I love Silverstone, and I had a good feeling throughout the weekend, winning a MotoGP race is never easy. It happened because me and the bike have improved a lot, both over the last year and a half, as well as during the weekend in the UK. I feel comfortable and confident, my team and the factory support me with their best efforts and the victory is a reward for our work. After such an emotional weekend, it is good to go racing again immediately and I will use this enthusiasm as a new impulse in Misano. The circuit is good, but also this GP is always emotional for the people and the fans. Last year the scenario was incredible and I hope we will feel the same affection this year. »

How do we recognize a budding passion? Maverick must have been a bit like this when he was little (source: John McGuinness):
