After creating his own team to compete in the Italian Moto3 Championship for young riders, Max hoped to arrive in Grands Prix in 2018 with the support of Mahindra. Unfortunately for him, the Indian manufacturer decided to withdraw from the World Championship, and Dorna did not wish to give him a place.

So what are Biaggi's plans for next season? He explained himself in a long interview published in bikesportnews.com of which here are some extracts: “ We will continue this project focused on the education of talented young pilots. This sport has given me so much. Motorcycle racing has been my whole life, so I want to give something back. These kids are lucky because we provide them with professional structure. When I started, I was alone. I like to pass on my experience. I talk to them a lot, but I think they also need to have technical knowledge, understand data – an unknown language for them. Regarding plans, we will decide soon whether we continue in the Italian Championship or the Junior World Championship. »

How does Max see his friend Jorge Lorenzo's season? “ Jorge never gave up, even when the results didn't come. He has always been optimistic and now he is competitive. He was very fast in Misano before he crashed, in Aragon he led several laps and finished on the podium. I'm sure a victory will come soon. Once he can adjust his bike to his liking, he will be ahead. And next year he will be a serious contender for the title. »

What about Marc Marquez? “ When he arrived in MotoGP, he won an incredible number of races, despite a bike that wasn't always the best. How do you see which is the best motorcycle? If Marquez wins and Pedrosa finishes fifth or sixth, that indicates the value of the machine. It’s Marc who makes the difference. I wonder how many races he would have won if he had the better bike? »

What was the overall impression of this year's Championship? “ It was a balanced championship where we saw several drivers in the lead during the season. At the beginning Yamaha dominated, then Ducati started to win with several victories from Dovizioso and finally Honda with a double victory in Misano and Aragon, then Marquez who can make the difference, as he showed in Australia. The tires have made the championship more open and complicated. Vinales looked unbeatable during the winter tests and the first races. Then the tires changed and he seemed to have more difficulty. »
