The article is making noise in the paddock… It comes from Mela Chercoles, a renowned journalist who works for the famous site AS.

According to the latter's words, Valentino Rossi has already started negotiations concerning his renewal within the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team for the years 2019 and 2020.

News which will not fail to delight all fans of the Doctor, and which would lead the latter to pilot until the age of 41.

Until now, the official version declared by the Yamaha rider is to wait for the first part of the 2018 season before making his decision, but we also remember that Valentino Rossi had pulled the rug out from under everyone's feet by announcing in Qatar 2016 its renewal for 2017 and 2018.

The 2019/2020 transfer market will in any case be particularly lively since almost all of the contracts binding the factory drivers expire at the end of 2018.

Currently aged 38, Valentino Rossi is far from unworthy: still efficient in the dry, he is also efficient in the wet, which is less obvious for the man who has long been presented as his successor, Maverick Vinales.

Furthermore, and this is undoubtedly far from being incidental at the moment, the experience of the Italian driver is to this day irreplaceable, as evidenced by his warning signal launched during the winter tests, alone and against everyone, as to to the competitiveness of the Yamaha M1 2017…

Finally, there seems to be no obstacle between the two parties, Valentino Rossi having already been, for some time, far from being the highest paid driver on the grid, his income coming mainly from his partner contracts and his merchandising activities.

By taking the lead, the man from Tavullia would thus ensure a place on the official Yamaha M1, which is undoubtedly, after the unfortunate Ducati episode, an essential condition for the continuation of the career of the transalpine rider.

If the news were confirmed, the Rossi legend would gain even more amplitude, even if it seems difficult today!
