In a transfer window that has been late so far, only Jake Dixon has already left the world of MotoGP to join Honda HRC in Superbike.

Strange but true: it's the end of July, but there are still plenty of factory bikes available in the Superbike World Championship. The list of vacant spots is unusually long. One seat is up for grabs at Ducati Aruba (Álvaro Bautista unconfirmed), another at Yamaha Pata Maxus (Jonathan Rhea leaving), without forgetting the one at GRT which will be released by Dominique Aegerter at the end of the season. BMW is looking for a replacement for the world champion Toprak Razgatlioglu while waiting to finalize the position of Michael van der Mark, second.
Honda HRC would like to start from scratch, getting rid ofIker Lecuona and Xavi Verge, but for now the only factory CBR-RR assigned is that of Jake dixonThe British Moto2 rider is currently the only MotoGP rider to have decided to switch to the production World Championship. For him, it's almost a return to his roots, having made his name in British Superbike.

MotoGP, nobody moves
Although most of the top riders are still committed for 2026, the Superbike teams were confident they could count on a few top-level surplus riders. Jack Miller has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, but the Australian will remain at Pramac Yamaha, while the Portuguese Miguel Oliveira should give way to Toprak Razgatlioglu.
According to the latest rumors, however, Oliveira has no intention of leaving the scene and would be content with a test rider position rather than joining Superbike. The plan is logical: to remain in MotoGP before the big wave of contract renewals that will take place next spring.

Why is Superbike not attractive?
Aron canet is (or was...) first on the list at Aruba Ducati and BMW Motorrad. He has had long discussions with both teams, but they have not convinced him. The Spaniard, currently with Fantic Moto2, would be the ideal candidate to join forces with Nicholas Bulega. But the financial offer (€200?) and the one-year contract with an option for the 000 season, on the same terms as Bautista, did not please the team. BMW, on the other hand, would pay very well, but has not even discussed money with Aron. The Germans only want to commit for one year, as the 2027 Superbike project still needs to be approved by management. This would mean earning the salary of a top rider, but running the risk of being sidelined: not ideal for a young man approaching 2027 and still hoping to reach MotoGP.

Yamaha and Honda are waiting, the Marc VDS hypothesis
Aron Canet wants a promising and competitive program from the start, guarantees that neither Yamaha nor Honda (who are making great efforts...) can offer. Aron has also received an offer from Marc VDS: an excellent salary and a multi-year contract. But it is still a satellite team, albeit with a first-rate organization, budget, and ambition. Although coveted by the four most powerful teams in the Superbike paddock, he could also decide to stay another year in Moto2 with Fantic.

The old dragons remain: Bautista, Rea and Iannone, where are they going?
At Ducati Aruba, the alternative is James Masia : he is relatively young (25 years old) and has already won a Moto3 world championship title two years ago. But above all, the race engineers are well aware of his potential, the Spaniard racing in Supersport riding the satellite team's Panigale V2. His riding parameters are clearly superior to those of the brand's other riders, but Supersport is obviously not Superbike. And where will the veterans go? Bautista, Rea and Iannone There are plenty of places available right now, and the possibility of seeing them back on track in 2026 is very real. For each of them, for example, BMW's one-off offer could be acceptable. After the Hungarian round, Superbike will be suspended until early September: will anything be planned soon, or will we have to wait a long time?
