Dogs are not cats !

Si Midori Moriwaki displays a smile as charming as it is feminine in front of the lenses, don't be fooled: she also knows how to manage with an iron fist the affairs entrusted to her, as well as her own, in this case the Honda Superbike satellite team MIE Racing, the three letters meaning “Midori International Engineering».

It must be said that, in terms of genes, the lady is one to take after, her grandfather being none other than the legendary Hideo “Pops” Yoshimura, and his dad Mamoru Moriwaki (see his story here).

Suffice to say that Midori Moriwaki has seen racing motorcycles since he was born. She also took charge of the competition department of Moriwaki Engineering Co., Ltd at the age of 21.

For more than two decades, it has raced a multitude of drivers, Toni Elias when he was world champion in Moto2 to today Takumi Takahashi in WorldSBK, including the All Japan Superbike Championship and the Moriwaki Cup in the United Kingdom.

So, when last week, Genesio Bevilacqua, the boss of Althea, informed him that, due to lack of results, he was leaving the adventure, it did not take very long, in fact two days, for Midori Moriwaki to find a truck and engineers to be ready for the second round of Aragón.

And, superbly thumbing her nose at the disappointed Italians, the lady took the opportunity to just revolutionize the small world of motorcycle competition by introducing digital box panels : in the purest style of what we see in Tokyo, the usual simple aluminum sheets decorated in the colors of the sponsors are now replaced by giant digital screens scrolling the logos or images that we want.

Very impressive !

We bet that the idea will soon catch on in MotoGP…
