Like every year, the Spurtlèda 58 takes place on Wednesday evening in Misano. This is a karting race whose profits are donated to the Marco Simoncelli association. All Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP riders are invited and most of them therefore respond favorably when contacted for this ( see here ).
However, this year, we were able to note a lot of withdrawals among MotoGP riders, starting with Maverick Vinales, Andrea Dovizioso, Aleix and Pol Espargaro, Danilo Petrucci and Cal Crutchlow, without even mentioning the one who usually brings in and delights the crowd, Valentino Rossi.
They undoubtedly had good reasons for this, starting with the state of health of some (injured), but we could not not say it; the Spurtlèda 58 2016 was not the best of the editions, and despite the speakers still being lively, the spectators were a little disappointed; we were really very far from the 2014 edition on the small circuit at the end of the airport runway, and the madness that reigned there…
Also, instead of flooding yourself with photos of a race won quite easily by Mattia Pasini, we prefer to put those of the Honda received by the foundation which, at least, takes us back with emotion to the past...
