This first day of the Japanese Grand Prix was particularly painful for two drivers. One, Dani Pedrosa, returned to Spain to have collarbone surgery. The other, Eugène Laverty, is in hospital for a scan.

It is a terrible figure that a Dani Pedrosa at the of the second free practice session in turn 11 of the Motegi route. A proper catapulting of his Honda and it's even a sort of miracle that he got up alone. Raised, but with a broken right collarbone. The end of the game had just been declared for the teammate of Marc Marquez.

Dani Pedrosa is already on a plane heading to Spain where the essential Doctor Mir is waiting for him who will put the pieces back together. Eugene Laverty, he is still in Japan, in the hospital, where he is undergoing a scan. The Irishman crashed in turn 6 and played like a dislocated puppet for a moment in the gravel trap. Evacuated on a stretcher, a concussion is suspected for the Aspar driver.

 

 

It will be recalled that after Japan, Australia and Malaysia are next on the MotoGP calendar. Suffice to say that for Pedrosa, the return will be complicated before the last round in Valencia.
