It is a miraculous Lorenzo who marvelously appreciates his performance at the end of qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix. A meeting which would have ended two hours earlier after a violent fall on the Motegi route.

A violent accident during the morning session which brought him straight into a helicopter which flew to the hospital for check-up x-rays. Which, fortunately, revealed no fractures. Shaken and grimacing with pain, the Mallorcan first held his place during FP4 before performing well in qualifying.

A lesson in courage rewarded by third place on the starting grid: “ This morning I scared myself. It's been a long time since I flew away like that. I thought it was a fracture of the left foot, but in the end it was only muscular. I'm in pain, but the adrenaline helps me once I'm on the bike. Rossi had an excellent time. I've come a long way after my flight this morning ". And Por Fuera wasn’t talking about his helicopter ride…
