It was through a message posted on his Twitter account that we learned that Sylvain Guintoli had tested the Energica electric motorcycle this weekend.

This is obviously the vehicle that will participate in races “Moto-e” as a prelude to the Grands Prix from 2019 (see here).

The photo further tells us that this happened on the Almeria circuit, in the very south of Spain.

Obviously, one could wonder what was the reason for this test carried out by the French pilot…
The most likely hypothesis is a test carried out by Michelin to collect data for the manufacture of tires which will equip these motorcycles in racing.

Indeed, these will be different from the tires which currently equip MotoGP because, although their weight is not shown anywhere on the manufacturer's website, we have every reason to believe that electric motorcycles are much heavier than their counterparts. the queen category…

Whatever the case, and this is a particularly notable fact, Sylvain Guintoli announced a maximum speed of 270 km/h and found this amusing.

This is good news because it comes from the test rider of the Suzuki GSX-RR: if he finds it amusing, what would it be for us?

The “electrical project” is therefore following its merry path, and we can bet that, if there will always be a part of the public who will be hostile to it, it will perhaps bring us some good surprises…

As a reminder, you can consult here the opinion of the manufacturers involved in MotoGP on this subject.
