The Sky VR46 team has decided to put its troops in order for the next 2019 campaign before setting off towards the Aragon site. We know that the current leader of the Moto2 championship will play in MotoGP next year riding a Ducati Pramac. He therefore needed a successor. And it will be Open up, with disappointing results in Moto3. A category where, here too, the men of Valentino Rossi are rearticulated…

In Moto2, the Sky VR46 team will be made up in 2019 of a Luca marini at the spearhead, flanked by the beginner promoted from Moto3, Open up. The latter therefore sees himself promoted after three seasons spent in Moto3. A category in which the representatives of the Doctor label will be Dennis Foggia, current teammate of Open up, and the young 16-year-old Piedmontese, Celestino Vietti.

Open up commented: " After three years in Moto3, I feel ready to embark on this new adventure. I will give my best because I am very motivated and I am really delighted to have Sky Racing Team VR46 by my side for this key moment in my career. I'm going to continue to stay focused on my season, but it's true that I can't wait to get on my new bike. »

Paul Grandson remains leader on the ground of this joyful troop who will continue to place their trust in KTM and Kalex. “ Thanks to Francesco, we have achieved our goal and for the very first time, one of our riders will enter MotoGP next season with a very successful package. All together we have accomplished great things and we must be proud of them, but we must also move forward by continuing to support young Italians with the same professionalism and passion. We need to stay motivated and keep an eye for detail.

To breathe new life into our project, we decided to field two rookies alongside the experienced Luca Marini and Dennis Foggia. On the one hand, Nicolò will make his debut in Moto2 on a bike which should better suit his size and which should allow him to express his full potential. Expectations are high. Celestino will join our Moto3 structure after two years spent in the Junior Team. He is young, but ultra motivated and ready to make the jump. From a purely technical point of view, we played the stability card by deciding to extend with KTM in Moto3 and Kalex in Moto2. »
