In 2020, there will be no more KTM in Moto2. And yet, the Mattighofen colors will always be present on the fairings. The brand's boss, the lively Stefan Pierer, explains this originality by integrating it entirely into the logic of the brand's Grand Prix sector.

Next year, there will be no RC12 in Moto2. And yet, within the team Garlic which will make it roll George Martin et Tetsuta nagashima, we will not change the decoration. KTM will remain on the fairing just like Red Bull. Whereas instead of a chassis from Mattighofen and in-house WP suspensions, it will be a Kalex equipped with Öhlins.

But to win in three Grand Prix categories, we lack good technicians. We didn't have enough good technicians for Moto2. This is why we decided to leave this category and distribute the existing technicians for Moto3 and MotoGP. »

KTM's Moto2 project ended after two years and 14 victories. Eight were acquired by Binder, six per Olive tree. In 2019, Brad Binder missed the title against Alex Marquez that for only three points by finishing the season with a bang.

" The Moto2 design will be identical to that of this year. And I remember the Moto3 times when Jonas Folger won with a Kalex KTM in Brno. Now we no longer have a KTM engine in play, it will be a KTM decoration " smiles Pierre. “ We have a long-term business relationship with Kalex. »

The slogans “Ready to Race” and “Road to MotoGP” will be present on Red Bull Ajo Moto2 motorcycles. “ This project is part of our MotoGP Academy, our main sponsor Red Bull is involved " finished Pierre.
