Among the Márquez siblings, I would like the youngest, Álex, fresh from his first world crown in Moto2. Once again, after his first title won in Moto3 in 2014, the 23-year-old young man has emerged from the shadow of his elder, Marc. A big brother who, however, did not waste his time either, since he has just filled his already well-stocked bag with an eighth title, in all categories confused.

During the press conference held at the University of Cervera before the big party that followed to celebrate the two titles of the country's children, Alex Marquez explained how difficult it was to win his title this season. At 23, he nevertheless has two world titles; few drivers can claim to have such a record at the same age to date. With the exception of his brother, Marc Márquez, who at 23, had already won four titles, since his debut in 125cc in 3, passing through Moto2010 in 2, then beginning his harvest of titles in MotoGP, in 2012 and 2013.

Álex, among other things, wanted to pay tribute to his brother Marc « whose success is not due to chance, but is linked to someone who works hard and gives everything. »

Marc’s response was quick because he also took the opportunity to praise his younger brother: “ he managed to overcome adversity. He is Moto2 world champion, but I don't forget the past year. When everything is going well, you are praised, but when things are not going well, everything is then necessarily your fault, and that's where it's difficult, and he managed to get past that. . Concerning myself, my weak point was falls, well that has been corrected. » And he adds : “he is 23 years old and two world titles. There aren't many other drivers that have the same thing. »

Finally,  Álex said he was proud to be compared to his brother. " we are brothers and friends, it doesn't bother me that they tell me that I am Marc's brother. Having an 8-time world champion brother who knows me as such doesn't bother me, it's an honor to be his brother and to be able to be by his side every day He concluded.
