A rider can suffer a big fall and recover without a fracture without being able to get back on his motorcycle anytime soon. This is the difficult situation currently experienced by Philipp Ottl who is only recovering with difficulty from the concussion suffered during the Catalan Grand Prix.

A trauma which had already forced him to forfeit during the last meeting at Assen. It is now the Sachsenring which is forbidden to him. The Tech3 team has announced a break for full recovery.

Last weekend he completed 19 laps at Assen during the first free practice sessions. Due to nausea and visual problems, the 23-year-old pilot had to throw in the towel. Öttl will do the same this weekend dedicated to the Sachsenring. He will have missed three consecutive races.

At the end of the German Grand Prix, it will be the summer holidays which will allow Öttl to fully recover. The next race in Brno will take place at the beginning of August. The season has been difficult so far for the Moto2 beginner. Öttl still waiting for his first championship point. His best result was 18th place, taken in Austin.
