Sam Lowes qualified on pole position in Germany for the first time since the meeting in Emilia-Romagna last year, where he also took his latest victory. Lowes is the eighth different pole-sitter in Moto2 since the start of the year. The last time there were eight or more was in 2020, with nine. This is Sam Lowes' 18th pole position in Moto2. He thus extended his record as the driver with the most pole positions in the category ahead of Tito Rabat (16).

Albert Arenas qualified in second position, his best qualifying result since switching to Moto2 last year. It is also his first front row in the category. He will try to get on the podium for the first time in Moto2.

Augusto Fernandez qualified in third position for his fourth front row since the start of the season with Indonesia, Argentina and France where he won his last victory. Three of his four Moto2 victories came after qualifying third.

After passing Q1, Jake dixon qualified in fourth position, which is the seventh time since the start of the year that he has qualified in the first two rows. He will try to get on the podium for the second time in Moto2 with Austin this year (P3).

Marcel Schrötter qualified in fifth position, his best qualifying result since his third place in Austria in 2020, where he finished third for his most recent podium. Aron canet qualified in sixth position, which is the sixth time since the start of the year that he has qualified in the top six. He also started from sixth place in France, but after qualifying in seventh position. He will aim for victory for the first time in Moto2.

After going through Q1, the championship leader Celestine Vietti qualified in eighth position for his third worst result since the start of the year, after Portugal, where he qualified in 13th position but finished in 2nd position, and France where he qualified 19th and had finished P8.
