Moto2 Aragón-1 Race: Disaster for the Sky VR46 team, Sam Lowes wins, changes to the championship!

Who can stop Sam Lowes in Aragón? The question is asked after the weekend carried out by the driver Marc VDS. Very fit since Friday, he has always been in the top 5, even dominating FP1, and took pole position by breaking the track record yesterday. Also leader of the warm up this morning, winner last week at Le Mans, all the lights are green for a second victory to be added to his record of the season.

But we know that as long as the finish line is not crossed, nothing is done and anything can happen, starting with opponents who will do everything to win the precious grail of victory. Fabio Di Giannantonio, first of all, asserted himself as his main rival throughout the weekend, but Marco Bezzecchi isn't far either. Also note that the leader of the Championship, Luca marini, is not that far behind with his seventh place on the grid and he will not give up to maintain his lead in the general classification.

You will also have to rely on Jake dixon, Marcos Ramirez or Jorge Navarro to play spoilsport, since these three drivers complete the second row and were also strong during free practice. Dixon will also be very keen to make up for his mistake last weekend which saw him finish with a blank result instead of his first victory.

With 19 degrees in the air, 27 degrees on the track as well as sunshine, Moto2 riders have good conditions for their race. When the lights go out, they set off for 21 laps and it's Marco Bezzecchi who takes the advantage in the first corner after an excellent start. It precedes Sam Lowes.

After five laps of racing, Bezzecchi always leads Lowes with a small lead of four tenths. Enea Bastianini is behind in sixth position after moving up from 12th place. Afterwards, Remy gardner, Ramirez, Joe Roberts et Héctor Garzó complete the top 10.

Just before the halfway mark, Di Giannantonio takes the lead in the race and Bezzecchi tries to respond but it doesn't work. Lowes is in contact just behind and is threatening. Although he had only been leading for a few turns, By Giannantonio share in the fault, thus giving back to Bezzecchi the head of the race.

Martín therefore virtually on the podium, which would be a great reward for him after two blank results as well as two missed Grands Prix since he had tested positive for coronavirus. Behind, bastianini et Dixon complete the top 5. Next come Ramirez, Gardner, Garzo, Roberts et Tom Luthi.

With a small lead over Lowes, Bezzecchi seemed safe but put under pressure by the Englishman, he made a mistake like his teammate. The Le Mans scenario repeats itself: Lowes takes the lead of the race, wins and comes back to two points in the championship! The Sky driver loses big by leaving 23 points behind.

Behind the fight rages between bastianini et Martín and the Italian finally has the last word, in addition to the lead in the championship! The Spaniard nevertheless reached the podium, while Dixon finishes fourth ahead Gardner.
