Unlike usual where 2 or 3 names emerge clearly, the 5 sessions preceding this Argentinian Moto2 Grand Prix did not really allow a very clear hierarchy to emerge.

At most we can see that Miguel Oliveira (KTM, Red Bull KTM Ajo) has always been in the top 10, Alex Marquez (Kalex, Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) and Francesco Bagnaia (Kalex, SKY Racing Team VR46) were not far from achieving the same performance, but we also saw the remarkable performances of Mattia Pasini (Kalex, Italtrans Racing Team), Remy gardner (Mistral M610, Tech 3 Racing), Xavier Vierge (Kalex, Dynavolt Intact GP) and Lorenzo Baldassarri (Kalex, Pons HP 40).

In summary, and even more so if we add particularly delicate track conditions, the race seems extremely open, and very clever who could give the trifecta in order, even if unanimity should be in favor of the slicks , in view of the Moto3 race.

The still wet track now presents dry trajectories, the 23-lap race is declared “Dry”: if it were to rain, it would therefore be interrupted.

The temperatures are 23° and 29° for the air and the track.

It is under the eye of a Franco Morbidelli winner in 2017 leaning on the wall only when the red lights go out Xavi Verge achieves a cannon start and seizes command of operations in front Miguel Oliveira, Lorenzo Baldassarri, Mattia Pasini, Alex Marquez et Sam Lowes.

Lorenzo Baldassarri immediately adopts a good rhythm and takes command before the end of the first lap. With Xavi Verge, they manage to create a small gap but Mattia Pasini does not see it that way and makes the junction in the 2nd round.

Brad Binder minor fall at turn number 13 while the group of six drivers mentioned above managed to open up a gap of a second and a half on a peloton led by Remy gardner.

Mattia Pasini takes the lead before the end of the 2nd lap while, conversely, Alex Marquez misses and is taken down by the leading group.

One turn later, Xavi Verge gets a nice heat by first losing the front then the rear, but remains on its wheels.

On your mind, Mattia Pasini, Miguel Oliveira et Lorenzo Baldassarri are now slightly detached in front Alex Marquez, Xavi Virgo, Joan Mir, Dominique Aegerter et Remy gardner.

Little by little, things settle down halfway through the race where we always find the same trio in command, ahead of a duo Virgo–Márquez, himself preceding a Remy Gardner somewhat lonely in front Dominique Aegerter et Joan mir.

Miguel Oliveira takes the best of Mattia Pasini but the latter, at the cost of a muscular action to say the least, recovered his property and forced the official KTM rider to downgrade to 3rd position.

Xavi Verge, particularly fast, managed to get back on Márquez et Baldassarri, thus standing in 3rd position 7 laps from the checkered flag.

One lap later, the Dynavolt driver got the better of Miguel Oliveira. The latter then seems to have a little difficulty keeping the pace set by the 2 leading men, and the victory seems to have to be decided between Mattia Pasini et Xavi virgin.

However, the fiery Italian Mattia Pasini does not intend to hand over control to anyone and crosses the finish line as winner, for the second time in his career in the Moto2 category.

Also a good performance from Remy gardner riding his Mistral from the Tech3 team, the Australian rider thus obtaining his best result in the intermediate category.

French side, fabio quartararo concludes in 22nd position while Jules Danilo had to retire following a clutch failure.
