This Dutch Grand Prix on a resurfaced Assen track began with domination by Augusto Fernandez. The latter thus recalled that he was the last winner on this circuit. His time in 1'36.744 is therefore the reference. His closest pursuer Raúl Fernández (Red Bull KTM Ajo) admitted defeat by a little more than a tenth.
Remy gardner (Red Bull KTM Ajo), current leader in the World Championship, however remained in ambush, more precisely in third place. Which was accompanied by Jorge Navarro (+EGO Speed Up) and Simone Corsi (MV Agusta Forward Racing).
Somkiat Chantra (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) finished in an honorable sixth place while Marco Bezzecchi (Sky Racing Team VR46) ranked seventh. Stefano manzi (Flexbox HP40), Joe Roberts (Italtrans Racing Team) and Fabio DiGiannantonio (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) completed the Top 10 of this session.

Beaubier also gets going at turn 1 mid-session. The moment when Bezzecchi makes the powder speak in 1'48.637. But Jake dixon done better by a tenth. Héctor Garzò climbs to third. Joe Roberts closes the top 5.

The rain has stopped and the trajectories are becoming more welcoming. Sam Lowes took the opportunity to sign a 1'48.275 which put him in the lead in place of his compatriot Dixon.

More Joe Roberts give an extra push to lower the reference by 50 thousandths. There are ten minutes left in this FP2. Under the checkered flag, it's Hector Garzo who achieves the best performance in 1'47.617. He is ahead of the best morning performer in the dry Augusto Fernandez of 34 thousandths. Bulega, Canet et Joe Roberts complete the top 5.
Sam Lowes leads the rest of the pack while the Ajo pilots were not in the mix. Gardner is 18th and Raul fernandez 23e.
