The Spanish driver of the FlexBox HP 40 team from Sito Pons underwent surgery this morning in Barcelona after breaking his left arm.
After his accident during practice for the Argentine Grand Prix, Augusto Fernández was successfully operated on by Dr. Xavier Mir at the Dexeus University Hospital (Quirónsalud group) in Barcelona.
He restored an intra-articular and displaced fracture of the left distal radius, reducing an open fracture and internal fixation with a titanium plate.
Now, Augusto Fernández will remain in hospital for 24 hours and his progress will be decisive in deciding whether he will participate in the next Grand Prix of the Americas, on April 12, 13 and 14.
