It was Jake Dixon who set the best time in the third and final free practice session for the Austrian Moto2 Grand Prix, scheduled for Sunday at the Red Bull Ring. The Aspar team driver achieved the best performance with a time of 1'34.016, beating the Japanese team Asia, Ai Ogura by only 5 thousandths and his teammate Albert Arenas by 81 thousandths.
The fourth beat is for Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Italtrans), which left behind the leader Augusto Fernandez (Red Bull Ajo), Somkiat Chantra (Team Asia), Peter Acosta (Red Bull rookie Ajo) and Filip Salac (Gresini).
The drivers of Team Pons Aron canet et Jorge Navarro close the Top Ten. Alonso lopez (Speed Up), Barry Baltus (RW Racing GP) and Celestino Vietti (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) as Tony Arbolino (Marc VDS) also qualified directly for Q2.
They will have to go through Q1, among others: Bo Bendsneyder, Fermin Aldeguer, Cameron Beaubier, Niccolò Antonelli, Alessandro Zaccone et Simone Courses. We will remember the absence of Sam Lowes, injured, replaced by Senna Agius.
