Qualifying opens for a Moto2 category which has until now been dominated by one driver: Sam Lowes. Driver Marc VDS was thus credited with the best time at the end of the first day, and he once again set a benchmark during the morning FP3, as evidenced by his lap in 1'43.523. Luca marini had to be satisfied with the third time, ahead of Fabio DiGiannantonio on Speed Up and Jorge Martín. Marcel Schrötter fell back to sixth place, despite the fact that he had improved like most of his opponents. Marco Bezzecchi retained seventh place. Remy gardner, Xavi Virgo et Augusto Fernandez completed the Top 10.
