The new Tech3 driver spoke with GP One about the next adventure that awaits him in Moto2 in 2019.

Marco Bezzecchi narrowly missed out on the Moto3 World Champion title this year due to some mistakes but also a lot of bad luck. However, he now wants to put this behind him: “There’s no point in continuing to think about it all the time. It's been a wonderful year and I was hoping it would end differently, that's normal. But I achieved great results which allow me to be satisfied. I'm ready to leave. »

And he will do just that with a change of category since he goes from Moto3 to Moto2 in 2019 within the Tech3 team. At the end of the first test carried out on the Jerez circuit, he was able to give his first impressions: " It's really super. It remains a difficult adventure but at the same time very beautiful. As this is only the beginning there is still a lot to discover. I really liked Moto2, even if we encountered some difficulties. I worked a lot on myself, on my riding style and on the bike, making very big changes to see how the bike reacted. »

However, the Italian driver did not expect that the milestone to be crossed between the two categories would be so significant and he knows that he will have to work hard next year, especially since his opponents have been more competitive than him: “I thought the difference between Moto3 and Moto2 would be less significant, and that surprised me a lot, especially in terms of the engine which is impressive. Besides that, electronics are new to everyone and it will take time to understand how to adapt. Finally, there is the weight of the bike, which is quite significant and I have to change my riding style a lot. Many of us moved to Moto2, and I finished last among the beginners during the tests. I want to progress because this position does not suit me. »
