This is an astonishing but very real situation. Some people dream of entering the VR46 Riders Academy, which implies that those who are there would die to stay there. But that's not quite right since members are leaving. Baldassarri, Foggia and Bulega will no longer be there next year and are starting to pack up to leave their room. And all this to the great sorrow of those concerned who nevertheless have a priori chosen their fate since the academy has never communicated about the slightest grievance against them...

This scenario happened with Roman Fenati. But in the case of Nicholas Bulega, it's not that. We will remember that during the winter off-season, an insistent rumor had excluded him from school Valentino Rossi, before it was belatedly denied. But this time, it’s the right one: “ I can proudly say that I was the driver of my absolute idol » declared the Kalex driver on this start.

« The VR46 Riders Academy was like a second family to me. Over the past six years, I have spent most of my time with Vale, Uccio, Albi, Barbara and my friends and colleagues at the Academy. I learned so much and feel privileged to be part of this group " has explained Open up.

But then, why leave? “ After many years with the same colors and the same people, the time has come for me to try to walk on my own and gain new professional experience in order to improve myself as an athlete and a person. It will not be an easy challenge to take on, not at all, but this aspect will also be used to progress » declares the Italian.

Since his debut in the Moto3 World Championship – as a wildcard rider in Valencia in 2015 – Open up has always been in the Sky Racing Team VR46. In his first season as a regular rider, he was on the podium twice in 2016, but the following two years in Moto3 were disappointing.

In 2019, the 19-year-old rider has the chance to participate in the Moto2 World Championship. However, he was struggling with compartment syndrome issues and decided to have an operation, which is why he missed the Texas Grand Prix. With two top 10 results and a total of 16 points, the Kalex driver enters the second half of the season as 18th in the general classification.

« First of all, I would like to thank Valentino Rossi, who believed in me and who was like a big brother, a friend, a great role model – and I hope he can continue to be. I thank Uccio, a friend with whom I have always had an excellent relationship of respect and friendship. The list of people I have to thank is eternally long: from Albi to my friend and teammate Luca Marini, to everyone who works in the VR46 and who is part of my big dream of racing in the world championship. Special thanks to Sky, who always believed in me " concluded Open up.
