Joe Roberts achieved the best performance in the second free practice session of the Catalan Grand Prix in the Moto2 category, the ninth round of the 2022 World Championship scheduled at Montmelò in Barcelona. The American rider from Team Italtrans set the best lap in 1'44.752 and preceded Aron Canet (Pons) by 0.109s, who in turn beat the rookie and youngest winner in Moto2 by only 76 thousandths. Pedro Acosta (Red Bull Ajo).
The 2021 champion of the Moto3 category has been one of the most efficient in terms of race pace and is still aiming for a race as protagonist. No. 51 is ahead Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Italtrans), Alonso lopez (Speed Up), Augusto Fernandez (Red Bull Ajo) and Will Bendsneyder (SAG). Aspar pilots Jake dixon et Albert Arenas and the Japanese Ai Ogura close the Top Ten. Also in provisional Q2 Marcel schrotter (Intact GP), Sam Lowes (Marc VDS), Celestino Vietti (Marc VDS) and Filip Salac (Gresini).
