A big opportunity awaits the VR46 Master Camp Team next weekend (June 4 – 5 – 6, editor's note) at the Catalan GP, where Keminth Kubo will race as a wildcard in the Moto2 intermediate category.

After two rounds of the FIM CEV Championship which showed promising potential as he occupies 6th position, it is now time to Kevin Kubo to take his first steps on the world stage by racing with the best drivers in the category during the next GP organized on the Catalan circuit.

An important first for Thai Yamaha Motor which will see its first rider compete in Moto2 in the World Championship in order to diversify his sensations and gain fruitful experience before the next CEV races.

However, we remind you that the Moto2 Grand Prix cars are powered by the three-cylinder Triumph while the FIM CEV is still using the four-cylinder Honda 600cc this year.

Kevin Kubo : " It is a great pleasure for me to participate in the Catalan GP. I would like to thank Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd, Yamaha Motor Racing, Thai Yamaha Motor and VR46 for the great opportunity they are giving me. Being able to race among the best riders in the world is a privilege and I will work hard and give my best to enjoy it. »

Luca Brivio, Team Director: “ We are very happy that Kubo will have the opportunity to compete against the best riders in the category. This is a great opportunity for his professional progression. We realize it won't be easy given it's his first time on a Triumph bike but we've had a few days of testing with a Triumph which has increased Kubo's confidence on the saddle of his bike.. Competing against the fastest drivers in the category is a challenge that gives the team additional motivation. »

Roberto Locatelli,  Driver coach: “Kubo’s first time in the world championship and first time on a Triumph-powered bike, it feels like a big chance. We will work by focusing on acquiring as much experience as possible, without rushing. The data collected during the tests carried out at this circuit two weeks ago will be a useful basis for work for Kubo and for the Team to begin with. »
