This time, it is a certainty: the pandemic which is currently raging and which requires everyone to review their daily lives has been involved in the decision of a world championship. This is that of Moto2, one of whose protagonists, in this case Jorge Martin, must withdraw from a second competition, after having resigned himself to doing the same during a previous one. In two weeks, it was not possible to validate all the elements to remove the doubt. Pilot Ajo is doing well, except for morale. Because he knows that his hopes for the crown have now dwindled...

It's official : Jorge Martín will have to follow coronavirus safety protocols for an additional week. The Spanish driver has again tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the second race at Misano this week-end. Last weekend, he was forced to watch the race on TV from his apartment in Andorra. He saw his direct rivals stock up on points. It will be the same this Sunday.

Martín underwent a second test this Wednesday to find out if he had passed the illness and thus be able to go to Misano, but the test came back positive, so he will not return to competition until the Catalan Grand Prix in Montmeló next week. If all goes well !

Handlebars in MotoGP are still relevant

« Today we informed Dr. Charte of the test result which came back positive. We must respect the safety protocol and due to the timing, we did not arrive in time to be able to have two negative PCR tests before the Grand Prix. Jorge is in perfect physical condition and trains every day at his home in Andorra. He is very strong and motivated to come back as soon as possible. We hope to see him again in Barcelona giving his best version ", explained the driver's representative in discussions with Motorsport.com.

Jorge Martín is in fourth position in the Moto2 World Championship standings, with 79 points. Luca marini, world leader, escapes with 112 points after last Sunday's victory in Misano. With 33 difference points, Martín is finding it more and more difficult to fight for the title of the intermediate category. However, he is still said to be in a good position for the handlebars of the second Ducati Pramac in MotoGP.
