Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS drivers Alex Marquez and Joan mir will be able to join the Le Mans circuit for the French Grand Prix with full confidence after having participated in an informative test session on the Mugello circuit in Italy.

The rain nevertheless posed some problems for the Belgian team during these two days, shortening the first after the lunch break and punctuating the second with thunderstorms during the afternoon.

Ni Marquez ni Mir had nothing new to try at Mugello, but both took advantage of the opportunity to work on the settings of their bikes in order to refine their base after the first four races of the season.

The two Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS riders worked to improve stability in corners, braking to the apex, and acceleration out of corners.

Marquez et Mir will now be able to head to Le Mans for the fifth round of the Moto2 world championship with the firm intention of erasing their disappointment from the last race in Jerez. The first fell while playing in the leading trio and the second was unable to express his potential due to gastroenteritis.

Alex Marquez:
« These two days at Mugello were positive. We have not worked on radical things but rather on details which are just as important in a category as competitive as Moto2. We also worked a lot and collected data for Kalex and Öhlins to help them in their respective development programs. We are now going to Le Mans, on a very different circuit to Mugello, and we know that we will have to use different settings. The Bugatti is a stop and go circuit which doesn't really suit my driving style but I did well there last year and this time I will aim to get on the podium »

Joan Mir:
« These two days at Mugello were profitable for us. We were able to try a lot of things on the bike. Some solutions were positive, others a little less, but all this allowed us to deepen our knowledge of the machine while allowing us to define a good base with the next race in France. It will be my first time at Le Mans with a Moto2, but it's a circuit that I love and on which I have always enjoyed racing in Moto3. We'll see what it's like with a Moto2 during free practice. I hope to be as competitive as I was in the first races »
