For the third time in a row, Deniz Oncu will have to give up taking part in a Moto2 race weekend. While the Turk's first part of the season ended earlier than that of his competitors, the misfortunes of Red Bull KTM rider Ajo continue: the No. 53 will not be lined up on the starting grid at Silverstone.
After a hand injury suffered during the month of June, Deniz Oncu missed the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen, as well as the German Grand Prix at Sachsenring the following week. The objective was then to concentrate on his rehabilitation in order to start the second part of the season in the best way, but this will ultimately not be achieved.
Still unable to race, Oncu will have to miss the British Grand Prix, which will be held next weekend at Silverstone.
“Deniz was unable to return this weekend, so we will count on Schrötter again to do a good job. We once again send our best wishes to Deniz and we are confident of seeing him return soon” tells us the official announcement published by the team on its social networks.

It is therefore Marcel Shcrötter who will replace Deniz Öncü for what will be the German's third consecutive participation in a Moto2 race this season. As a reminder, the latter already has experience in intermediate class, having been hired there between 2012 and 2022.
After finishing 18th and 17th in the last two events, Schrotter will therefore have to take advantage of this third round to draw on his experience and try to win a few points.
“I won't be able to drive at Silverstone, but I sincerely hope to be back as soon as possible” adds the principal concerned on his Instagram account.
