Having barely got off their machines at the end of qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix, the three drivers on the podium delivered their first impressions to the microphone of the MotoGP official website.

Ai Ogura (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia/poleman):
« I am very happy with my performance today, especially since until then I had encountered difficulties during free practice to weld everything properly on a lathe. So I was a little worried about qualifying, but my team gave me a good bike and did a really good job. »

Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team/second):
« I didn't really expect such a result to be honest, because yesterday we suffered quite a bit. My team still told me that starting from one of the first three rows would be a good thing. I then told myself that it was playable if I managed to perform well in all sectors. In the end I'm on the front row, it's incredible and it's a very good thing in this Moto2 category. I'm very happy with this and I want to thank the whole team who did an incredible job. I am very happy with this result. »

Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team / third):
« I really have to thank my team, because when I tried the new tires yesterday I didn't really have a good feeling. This morning I achieved my best time with the hard tire. Fortunately things were better during qualifying, even if I didn't really manage to have a clean lap at the end of the session because of the traffic on the track. My pace is good, as is Ogura's, so I think we will be able to have a good battle tomorrow. It was a solid day, which is always a good thing. »
