The Sky Racing Team VR46 driver is a discreet guy who doesn't talk too much about himself. For once he made an exception by confiding in La Gazzetta dello Sport about his studies, his girlfriend and his passions. Here is the second part translated.

Read the first part.

Luca, you listened, learned and put into practice. We always knew that you were an excellent student, with almost perfect English to boot.
I always liked English at school and having grown up in this environment, I learned it. I always spoke a lot with the Vale mechanics and Jeremy (Burgess, former historical technical chief of Rossi since his debut on the Honda 500, editor's note). And then my mother always told me “learn English, it’s useful.” »

You are very close to Stefania, your mother.
We have the same character. We often understand each other without needing to speak.

And you are in a relationship with Marta, a very beautiful story.
We have been together for almost two years, but we have known each other forever because we were in the same primary school. And I think that’s great. But don't start posting all his Instagram photos, eh? Well, it’s true that they are all beautiful. I did most of them. I like photography.

What else do you like that isn’t motorcycle related?
To play Playstation. Football too, even if lately I have seen very few matches. And tennis. I'm not doing badly. I have a great backhand, like Federer.

In 2016 you obtained your scientific baccalaureate and you were thinking of enrolling at university, in computer science, before finally betting everything on motorbikes.
The school helped me a lot, even in work, because it's not just about getting on a motorcycle. In some ways, this world is like school. You have to study to be ready to take the exam. The difference is that here you can study what you really like. But studying makes a difference. This is why I invite young people who dream of being pilots not to abandon school. Ignorance doesn't lead to much, whereas learning helps and studying allows you to live a better life.

And you study to get to MotoGP.
I always thought about it. Everyone has goals in life, and I always had this one in mind. Now, the awareness of being able to get there has increased, it's a little more real, even if it's still far away. Let's say that after this end of the season we can say that MotoGP has moved half a centimeter closer.
